Keg Volume Calculator — Remaining Beer
Calculate how much beer remains in a keg from its weight or CO2 usage.
Type and size of your keg
How you want to measure remaining volume
Current weight of keg with beer
How We Calculate This
Weight Method
Remaining litres = (Current weight - Empty weight) / Beer density
Beer density is approximately 1.01 kg/L for most beers. Higher gravity beers may be 1.02-1.03 kg/L.
CO2 Method
Remaining litres = Keg capacity - (CO2 used g / CO2 per litre)
Approximately 2.5g of CO2 is used per litre dispensed at typical serving pressures.
